Warped

Elise Stefanik, for whom "whole civilization" means "regime":

What part of "a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again" does former Representative Elise Stefanik not understand? Donald posted on Untruth Social on April 5

A whole cvilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?  We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!

What we found out was, praise be to God, that TACO. Trump backed down, and so Iran- and thereafter, possibly the entire Middle East- was not wiped out

During the interview CNN's Tapper had with Stefanik on CNN's State of the Union on April 19, the latter claimed that President Trump

is targeting the Iranian terrorist regime. Everyone seems to understand that Jake, except for CNN.

And what did it do? It brought the Iranians to the table, delivering a cease-fire, and, frankly, bringing this terrorist regime to its knees. It has been very important for us to address, frankly, this conflict that has been going on for decades, the terrorist regime that has not only hijacked the Strait of Hormuz, but has been the number one state sponsor of terror.

After Trump's threat, Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, which temporarily relieved the nation of bombardment. On April 10, Vice President Vance negotiated with the Iranians for one day, which came to no avail.  In light of the ceasefire, Tehran was to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, but then reneged when it contended that the continuation of Israeli military operations in Lebanon violated terms of the agreement.

Responding to the breakdown of talks, the US military began a blockade of Iran's ports on April 13, prompting Tehran to threaten to retaliate against the ports of its Gulf neighbors. Israel and Lebanon then agreed to a ceasefire and Iran backed down. But on April 20, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf of Iran "issued a sharp rebutall to US President Donald Trump, laying out a multi-point counter that challenges"  several claims made by the American President. And Ghalibaf announced that the Strait wouldn't remain open and "Iranian authorization" would be required to sail through it.

Stefanik made her "brought the Iranians to the table" boast one day prior to that. However, negotiations currently are suspended, the Iranians aren't at "the table," and the notion that "this terrorist regime (has been brought) to its knees" is delusional, or would be if she believed it. That is, unless "brought to its knees" means "radicalized and emboldened."

But that is nothing compared to Stefanik's obscene perspective on genocide.  Jake Tapper asked the ex-congresswoman repeatedly about the President's threat to wipe out Iranian civilization. And, with slight wording change, each time her response was the same:

- He was focusing on the Iranian regime.
- And it's very important to note that the- I'm talking he was focused on the Iranian terrorist regime.
-But that's- Jake, you can ask this question but the reality is it was targeted toward the Iranian terrorist regime.
-President Trump was not calling for genocide. Shame on CNN for saying that.

Stefanik argued "if you want to compare the President of the United States to the university presidents who failed to call for the condemnation of calling for the genocide of Jews, that's on you, Jake."  This was worse than classic bothsiderism or moral equivalence. She strongly implied that statements from the "from the river to the sea" students and college presidents who did not squelch their anti-semitic speech were worse, and more significant, than President Trump's threat against the Iranian people.

Those words included "a whole civilization will die tonight." Then as if to make sure that everyone understood, Donald added "never to be brought back," making crystal-clear his wet dream of destroying an entire people. The civilization would be unrecognizable and irretrievable, victim of unparalleled death, destruction, and horror. The USA instantly would have become an international pariah and a society which would forever be placed alongside Nazi Germany in the history books.  A good thing, according to Elise Stefanik.
