Ever The Racial Huckster

gangsta, from The Urban Dictionary- A sociopathic member of the inner-city underclass, known primarily for being antisocial and uneducated. Also known for ready access to illegal drugs and weapons, and staggeringly poor marksmanship.

gangsta, from mainstream dictionaries: (no entry)

And so we have Rush Limbaugh today claiming "This is the New York Times calling for Obama to take the gloves off. They want him to 'go gangsta.'"

In a fair summary of the New York Times article Rush gloated about today, Michael Barbaro, Jeff Zeleny, and Monica Davey wrote

At a gathering of the Democratic National Committee in Chicago this weekend, some party leaders sounded upbeat after they toured the Obama campaign headquarters. But others expressed anxiety that Mr. Obama’s accomplishments were not being conveyed loudly enough to ordinary people, that Republican lawmakers were making it impossible for him to get more done, and that Mr. Obama’s conciliatory approach might be translating to some voters as weakness.

You will not be surprised that there was no mention in the article of "gangsta." Or rap music. Or race. You will not be surprised, either, that Limbaugh characteristically invoked race to capture his radical hatred of President Obama.

But consider that Rush apparently believes his audience will lap up what even he must realize is racial bigotry. It is yet another indication of the disdain that Limbaugh has for his audience, the contempt that he holds for his listeners.
